and if you are ready for more - get ready for high energy fun from New Orleans on Saturday, September 10, 2011 with the Dirty Bourbon River Show. They are crazy talented (crazy and talented) big voiced and brassy. It was hard to pick just one video for the blog, so click on over to see their full video page - you won't be disappointed. Oh and did we mention this show is FREE too?
don't forget we're home of the late night SIX dollar burger. Yes just six bucks for our awesome all natural burgers on a brioche bun - yum! This is a late night special for all those music lovers. Can't wait to see you at The Old Town Pub this weekend, Steamboat! For the best night life in the Boat, Old Town Pub in Steamboat has you covered!
Just when you thought mudseason was B.O.R.I.N.G. - Old Town Pub swoops in to save the day with a capital B (double B, actually). This Thursday, May 12, 2011 is a double B Bonanza! It's Burger Night and Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam! Did you miss the debut of the all new burger night last week? Not many people missed it as we were jammin all night long. But here's the menu to get your tastebuds watering:
My favorite was The Blues Burger - Our NEVER EVER awesome 1/2 lb patty with bleu cheese crumbles. BTW NEVER EVER means never any hormones, never any antibiotics - how yummy is that?
And then on top of burger night we've got the amazing sounds of Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam. Tickets are $10 for this phenomenal show. Davy has sold out shows at Red Rocks, Fox Theatre, Belly Up and it just so happens that he loves to play Old Town Pub too. We hosted Davy a few years ago when he was an unknown from Isle of Man, England with the biggest blues voice we've ever heard and last year he stole the show at Howelsen when he teamed up with the Rhythm Devils (featuring: Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart, Keller Williams, Davy Knowles, Sikiru Adepoju and Andy Hess). All anyone was talking about that night was Davy Knowles (oh and he even hung out at OTP after the show for a couple of pints). So we're psyched and humbled that he's back again playing in Steamboat's must fun and laid back venue.
We are selling tickets online (oh yeah, we're quite advanced now). click this paypal link so that you won't miss out on this incredible show that we're lucky enough to host.
Ok you know us - you've known us for over 25 years - we are the burger people of Steamboat. We live, love, eat & breathe burgers. The Old Town Pub burger is a 1/2 juicy and delicious piece of perfection that is the corner stone of Steamboat's most well loved mudseason special - BURGER NIGHT! Yes people burger night is HERE (almost).
This Thursday, May 5, 2011 (Cinco de Mayo, baby!) we've got an ALL NEW burger night menu! Plus live music with Eric Delaney from 6pm-9pm. Yes people - the music is EARLY!
Wow - we have a LOT going on at Old Town Pub and in Steamboat in general this weekend February 4-6, 2011. So here's the long and short of it (and we thank you for being a blog reader!)
FRIDAY, February 4, 2011
It's the First Friday Artwalk 5pm-7pm. If you need to stop by for a warm up while walking around, pop into the Old Town Pub for hot drinks to warm your belly. And, of course, come on by aftewards for fabulous food in our dining room or delicious pub grub in the bar. I (Lizzie) am definitely going to be out and about supporting the arts of Steamboat. I'm particularly excited for shows at the K Saari Gallery with my new favorite artist and Steamboat new resident Ann Murphy. For more on the art walk, click on my steamboat scoop blog
Friday, February 4, 2011 LATE NIGHT - we've got live music from Jet Edison. Boulder's up and coming rock, blues, funky jam band.
Saturday, February 5, 2011 - Winter Carnival Street Events: 9:00am-noon! Come see the time of year when Steamboat parents throw all the safety rules by the wayside and hook their kids on skis behind horses! It's a blast it's a 98 year tradition and it's all happening downtown right outside the Old Town Pub (or down the street a tad). The 96th winter carnival was even featured on Good Morning America's Weekend Window. Watch the video below:
For all of the street event details, click on the Steamboat Chamber Winter Carnival Page HERE
And we know you'll be swinging through the Old Town Pub throughout the day to have a microbrew or a delicious lunch.
Saturday NIGHT February 5: The Lighted Man, Fireworks and all kinds of fire jumping fun at Howelsen Hill at 6:30pm. Dress warmly - I'm talking ski pants, hats, ski gloves etc. It's cold out there, but well worth watching the nighttime glowstick fun!
And then pop on into the Old Town Pub for DINNER after the lighted man show (or before the show for an early bite to eat with little ones who can't stay up that late). AND Don't forget to buy your Winter Carnival button. It's required for entry at all events and it's a fantastic souvenir/keepsake and it's what keeps our amazing Winter Sports Club funded throughout the year - training all those olympic hopefuls! Buy your button at the chamber or from our favorite neighbor (across the street from Old Town Pub) at ALL THAT JAZZ!
And then for the LATE night goers - we've got live music on Saturday night from Fort Collins' BETTER THAN BACON.
And then there's Sunday with a double whammy of the famed Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival Parade and the SUPER BOWL. good thing they're not at the same time!
My favorite shot of the parade right in front of the Old Town Pub. We're the only town in the country whose high school band performs on skis!
And then for the football fanatics out there we have the SUPER BOWL! We've got HD TVs and all your favorite football yummies. Wings, jalapeno poppers, and most importantly BUDWEISER (and lots of other fun microbrews).
And last, but certainly not least. We've got the Old Town Pub 2nd annual Super Bowl AFTER party. Live music with faves Sam Holt, Eric Martinez & Steamboat's Eric Barry! It's fun, it's wild, it's better than the halftime show (in our opinion) and we hope you'll join us this weekend for one or all of these amazing events!
Yes Jerry Joseph and Wally Ingram are back at it again and gracing our (newly carpeted) stage this Saturday, December 11, 2010. Show is $10 at the door and the fun starts at 10pm (well the fun starts earlier than that, but the music starts at 10pm). Questions, call 970-879-2101 or email yummy@theoldtownpub.com. Old Town Pub is located at the corner of 6th & Lincoln - downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado. If you're up for the weekend, stay with our great friends, Alpiner Lodge, downtown Steamboat Springs. Have you heard, we've got some of the BEST snow in Colorado! So grab your boards, head to Steamboat and come downtown for fantastic food & fun on Saturday night with Wally Ingram & Jerry Joseph.

"... a raw howling take that recalls the darkest moments of nineties grunge"
--ROLLINGSTONE
An alternative rock band whose sound has been described as a mix of alternative country and grunge and has drawn comparisons to bands like NIRVANA and MY MORNING JACKET. They have toured with Dinosaur Jr. and MEAT PUPPETS and performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brian. Their newest album "Sugar" was released on August 24, 2010.

Each week I am increasingly more amazed at the phenomenal calibre of music our very own, Kurt Vordemeier, books for Steamboat's Old Town Pub. We really are becoming the epicenter of Steamboat's best live music lineup. This week is no exception. Dare I say it might be the best week of the whole summer, but I don't have September's line up so who knows what else he's got up his sleeve!

The Dyrty Byrds and VERY special guests Jerry Joseph & Wally Ingram - $10
Longtime friends, Jerry Joseph and Wally Ingram will be making great music together at OTP! Together they are in Stockholm Syndrome, but Jerry is also known for his work with the Jackmormons, his great songwriting and dark lyrics. Wally is an accomplished drummer and percussionist who has collaborated with too many talented musicians to name here.
And if that wasn't enough of a great music line up for the night, we've also got Colorado and Georgia's best musical collaboration, Dyrty Byrds! This crowd pleasing super group is comprised of Sam Holt, from Outformation, Tori Pater from Polytoxic, Eric Martinez, from Bloodkin, Mike Goletz, from Harmonious Junk and Mike "Spanky" McCluer, a Colorado music mainstay. All in one night. All at the Old Town Pub. $10 at the door. Friday, August 27,
BETSY FRANCK & THE BAREKNUCKLE BAND
Funky Blues with a Country Twinge
Dirty Blues guitar, busy solid bass lines, gospel/country vocals, honky tonk keys, and rock & roll drummin'. This Athens, Georgia band makes for some soul infused, shake-your-booty blues rock. Does that sound like a good time or what????? We'll see you Saturday, August 28, 2010
And don't forget after their album debut this week - Sugar, an appearance on Conan O'Brian and a write up in Rolling Stone - Dead Confederates are playing at the Pub on Tuesday, August 31. Blog post on them coming stat. Any questions - call Old Town Pub at 970-879-2101 or send us an email at theoldtownpub@gmail.com
